(Need To Know)-Eastern Cougar Declared Extinct

Also known as the "ghost cat", the eastern cougar was widely believed to have been wiped out almost a century ago. The US Fish and Wildlife Services confirmed on Wednesday that they have probably been extinct since the 1930's.


It was suggested that the should reintroduce cougars and wolves to the eastern United States, but The wildlife service said Wednesday it has no authority under the Endangered Species Act to reintroduce the mountain lion to the East.
